Do I have an account?

If you are a CNM student enrolled in a supported DL (Internet) course, you will have an account as part of the course. Also students at South Valley and Westside campuses are pre-registered. Accounts are activated during the 3rd week of classes.

  • Other CNM students may also be granted an account under special circumstances. A CNM advisor, achievement coach, instructor or ACE staff member may request an account on the student's behalf (see contact info below).

I want online tutoring now! If you are enrolled in a supported online course you already have an account. Just go to

and login!

 How do I access my account? It's easy! Go to www.smarthinking.com and log in.

Beginning Fall 2006:
logins will be your CNM email address: username@cnm.edu
All student accounts have a default password of cnm.

It is strongly recommended you change your password the first time you login.

  • Econ 200 & 201
  • Math 099, 100, 120 & 121
  • Comm 232
  • Anth 101, Soc 101, Psy 105 & 220 students can get help with papers from the writing tutors.

*Courses vary slightly each term.

 

 How does it work? Each CNM student account has 300 minutes of tutoring time per term. (You may request more time if needed.) You can use the time for:
  • Drop-in Live sessions (available 24-7 for Math).
  • Prescheduled appointments.
  • Submitted questions or papers with a 24-hour turnaround.
  • Other academic resources are available free with your account.

What if I forget my username and password? You can contact customer support from the Smarthinking home page and they will be able to help you.

You can practice using the Whiteboard! Once you login, look at the bottom of your homepage and you will find a link to practice using the whiteboard, the main tool for live interactions.
