BRIAN'S CORNER

Greetings all,

We are getting to the end of the term.  It is always a good idea to make a backup of your course(s).  Here are the steps to properly backup your course shell.

1.  As soon as your class is over or by April 26 (or May 1st), back up your Blackboard courses.  Make sure you download the backups to your computer.  For Blackboard - you are only allowed one backup to reside in the queue, but you can download one, delete the one present in the queue and make another if you desire.

  • In Blackboard CE6:  From the Build Tab, Go to Manage Course - Backup - Back Up Course

Let us know if you have any questions.

Student Spotlight

Kimberly J. Ammlung

Business Major

Kimberly is a Business student who has previously taken Distance Learning classes at NMSU.  She tells us that having the opportunity to attend DL classes is one of the reasons why she transferred to CNM.

Here are a few answers Kimberly provided us in her interview.  Make sure you click on the link below to read the rest of the interview.

Question:   How did you first learn about Distance Learning at CNM?

Answer:

As a student  at New Mexico State University, I took several distance learning classes.  I enjoyed this type of class and looked to continue this type of learning when I transferred to CNM.

Question:    What have been the most valuable aspects of your Distance Learning experience?

Answer:

The ability to bring the classroom to me is an asset I value.  I also enjoy the freedom of doing the assignments at my convenience.  This helps alleviate a lot of stress from my everyday life.
