6.01. PROGRAMS/ATTENDANCE POLICIES Official publications shall be issued annually listing all programs offered by CNM and all policies and procedures governing attendance at the College. The publications shall include, but not be limited to, full- and part-time instructional programs, admission policies, registration procedures, tuition and fees, standards of progress, academic probation and suspension, grade appeal, attendance policies, graduation policies, financial aid, student services, rules governing campus conduct, and appeal procedures for suspension/dismissal. 6.02. TUITION AND FEES Because persons who are unemployed, unemployable, or underemployed are among the persons in the community least able to make additional payments for educational programs, it is the policy of the Governing Board to make its educational offerings available at the lowest possible cost to the student.
6.03. SCHOLASTIC PROBATION AND SUSPENSION The President and administrative staff shall develop appropriate procedures to be followed in placing students on scholastic probation and suspension. The procedures shall be published in an official CNM publication. 6.04. SUSPENSION/DISMISSAL FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE OR DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR The President and administrative staff shall develop appropriate procedures, including an appeal process, to be followed in suspending or dismissing students for substance abuse or disruptive behavior. The procedures shall be included in an official CNM publication. 6.05. STUDENT POLICY ON MILITARY DUTY The Governing Board shall adopt a policy and the President and administrative staff shall develop procedures to cover student(s) called to active military duty with the New Mexico National Guard and/or Reserves. 6.06. EXAMINATION OF STUDENT RECORDS School records pertaining to an individual student may be used only for the promotion or welfare of the student. The examination of documents contained in a student record or release of information contained in a student record shall be in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and as it may be amended. The administration shall maintain a current enumeration of official procedures for these purposes, incorporating all provisions of the Act and regulations pertaining thereto. A balanced program of student activities appropriate to the various needs of students served will be provided to supplement the formal courses of study. |
