 At-your-desk learning:  Microsoft Excel tutorial:  "So that's how! Great Excel features"

The Microsoft website offers some great tutorials to help users learn how to use various Microsoft applications.  This Excel tutorial offers

  • Five self-paced lessons and five practice sessions for hands-on experience.
  • A short test at the end of each lesson; tests are not scored.
  • A Quick Reference Card you can take away from the course.

Although the tutorial takes 40-50 minutes to complete, it's self-paced, so you can work on it when you the time. If you have speakers or a headset, you can hear the audio portion as well. Here's the link:

 Academic Affairs Assessment Center opens Sept. 12

The Academic Affairs Assessment Center will open on September 12 for faculty and students use during the Fall 2006 semester.  The Center will provide a testing service for make-up exams and distance education course exams. 

 

In his emailed announcement to the instructional division, Dr. John Walstrum, Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed "my sincere gratitude for the considerable efforts of Xeturah Woodley [Distance Learning Director], whose leadership has made the Center a reality."

 

Details are as follows:

Location:  Room S-16 (South Building) on the Main Campus. 

Dates:  Open from Tuesday, September 12, the third week of classes, through Thursday, December 14, 2006. 

Days/Hours: 

  • Tuesdays through Fridays, 12:00 noon until 8:00pm

  • Saturdays 8:00am– 12:00 noon

  • No testing services on Sundays or Mondays at this time

 For additional information about exam procedures and policies, please contact Kayleigh Carabajal or Jean Montano, 224-4400.  They are located in room S-18.
