4"101 Things You Can Do the First Three Weeks of Class

The following list of "101 Things You Can Do..." is offered in the spirit of starting off right. It is a catalog of suggestions for college teachers who are looking for a fresh way of creating the best possible environment for learning. Not just the first day, but the first three weeks of a course are especially important, studies say, in retaining capable students. http://honolulu.hawaii.edu/intranet/committees/FacDevCom/guidebk/teachtip/101thing.htm

4At-your-desk learning:  "Up to Speed with Word 2007"
CNM computers will be upgraded to Office 2007 in the coming year.  Here's an online course that uses audio and video to show some of Word 2007's new features. "Learn the best ways to use the new Ribbon, get a handle on finding popular commands, and understand what the new file format does for you."

If you don’t have time for the full course, you can watch the Up to speed with Word 2007 demo for the essentials, then come back to the course when you are ready to practice hands-on.

According to the author, Gene Donohue, "If you follow the 7 goal setting steps I've outlined in this article you will be well on your way to becoming an expert in building the road maps to your goals."
