4Instructional design:  "Fink's 5 principles of good course design" and "Preparing or revising a course"

This PDF file available on the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology Engineering website includes both the principles of L. Dee Fink and a plan--by Barbara Gross Davis of "Tools for Teaching" fame--for designing or redesigning a course.  This is a straightforward guide for planning "what to teach, how to teach it, and how to ensure that students are learning what is being taught."

4At-your-desk learning: Get out of your Inbox with Outlook 2007
"While it's true that e-mail can make communication more efficient, it's also true that the volume of messages can get overwhelming quickly...Outlook 2007 includes features to help you control e-mail volumes, find what you need, and act when and where action is required. Some of these features have been with Outlook all along, and some are new to this version. The good news is that all these features are flexible; so you'll be able to adapt them to fit your own organizational style." This handy tutorial shows and tells (with audio) how to use the best features of Outlook 2007, and it's useful for those using Outlook 2003 as well because many of them are available in the 2003 version as well.

4Productivity Primer:  Dealing with the junta virus at CNM--"9 tips for running more productive meetings"
Art Cordova, South Valley Campus Director, has been heard to say that there's a "junta virus" rampant at CNM (junta means meeting in Spanish), and he's looking for a cure. The fact is that many of us at CNM attend a lot of meetings, and not all of those meetings are as productive as we wish they were.  Here are "9 tips for running more productive meetings" (43 Folders website) that can help:.
