4 End-of-term
ideas: "A Strong Ending to the Semester"
The Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence at Western Kentucky University has a webpage that offers "many choices for finishing the semester in a manner that enables students to integrate and summarize course material at more complex levels and to increase retention of learning for application in later course work or living. We have informally clustered activities as follows:

4 Are you considering "Making the Move to Hybrid Courses"? Here's a new course to help you... If you've been thinking about hybrid delivery--partly in the classroom, partly online--for the courses you teach, you can take a new course, "Making the Move to Hybrid Courses," offered this summer through Organizational Learning. Participants in this new course will "experience 'hybrid' learning and explore new opportunities in both blended and distance education," according to Bill Meador, the course's co-designer and co-facilitator along with Kevin Brady, Donna Harrington, and Jean Luther.
Two sections--one on the Main Campus and one at JMMC--will be offered. Each section is limited to 20 participants. Part-time instructors who register will be paid for attending the five on-campus class meetings.
To learn more about this course, view this brochure (Word file) or this informative webpage on the Organizational Learning site.
Register for either section of this course on this webpage: http://planet.cnm.edu/orglearn/Institute/2007Spring/calendar_registration.htm
4At-your-desk learning: A plethora of PowerPoint tutorials Click the link below to find a long list of topics related to creating effective PowerPoint presentations, from design considerations to video explanations of how to use the software itself. The tutorials reside on the Information Technology & Telecommunications Services website at Fayetteville State University. http://www.uncfsu.edu/itts/training/training-videos/powerpoint_tutorials/powerpoint_tutorials.html
The tutorials, incidentally, were created in PowerPoint and made into videos with Camtasia Studio--and CNM employees who are interested in creating similar web-based presentation and tutorials have free access to both of these tools on their computers. Or if you don't have Camtasia Studio, you can call CNM's Information Technology Services (ITS) Help Desk at 224-HELP and request that it be installed.
