Master Teaching
WorkKeys:  Business Writing
Workshop description:

As companies become more global, and face-to-face interaction is decreasing, people are becoming more reliant on writing to get their message across.  Whether it’s a research paper or company memo, the quality of writing has an impact on the way the writer is perceived.  Poor writing skills may cause a reader to judge the writer as less competent or less credible.  Can your students produce written documents that are direct, grammatically correct, and easy to read?  Do they understand the demands of standard business English?

What you will learn from this workshop:
  • What are the skills that make a good writer
  • How the WorkKeys Business Writing skills fit in to student learning and success in class and on the job
  • How Business Writing skill building can be incorporated into the classroom
  • How to use KeyTrain as a resource to build Business Writing skills

Attendants will receive the WorkKeys Targets for Instruction for Business Writing. This valuable resource includes detailed information on the Business Writing skill levels, and ideas for classroom exercises to build skills.
