You do not need an
MP3 player for this class or for accessing podcasts or using
them in your classroom. Anyone can listen to podcasts using a
computer with an Internet connection, a browser or a podcatcher,
and headphones or speakers.
In this revamped Learnshop you will learn the answers to the
following:
1. What are podcasts?
2. How can you use the podcatcher/aggregator iTunes to find,
subscribe, and listen to podcasts?
3. Besides iTunes, what other ways can you find educational
podcasts? (Search engines, podcast-specific search engines,
educational podcast directories, and general podcast
directories.)
4. How can you make a podcast portable? (Burning a Playlist(s)
to a CD using one of three formats. Transferring podcasts in
iTunes to an iPod.)
5. What are some advantages to using podcasts in a classroom?
(Cover a wide range of topics and formats such as radio and news
programs, music videos, classroom exercises, lectures, etc.
Cover all levels and subject of education. MOST ARE FREE WITH
LITTLE OR NO COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS FOR EDUCATIONAL USE.)
This Learnshop will involve step-by-step instruction with
illustrations and time to practice. This is not an iTunes or
iPod class. We do not have time to learn for example, how to
find, download, or store music, TV programs or movies in iTunes
or on your iPod or another MP3 player.
