Part 3 of the Student Success Program will
take place Friday, March 30, 2007, from 8:00am-12:30pm in
Smith Brasher, Main Campus.
The purpose of Part
3 of the year-long Student Success Initiative is to celebrate
and encourage our own “best practices” at CNM. This half-day
conference will provide an opportunity for faculty and
instructional staff to share ideas about classroom strategies that
promote success for our students. If you are a member of the CNM
community who has developed a strong and/or innovative approach
for increasing student success, please consider sharing what you
do with your colleagues! This may include teaching styles
and/or classroom techniques (e.g., innovative group work, games,
brain-based learning strategies, contextual learning,
interactive techniques, etc.).
There are two identified formats for
presentations: panel and workshop.
-
A panel session is
made up of more than one person and speaks to a single topic.
-
A workshop is
generally given by an individual or team with the intention of
providing usable, transferable material to participants.
All presentations will be 45 minutes in
duration. However, there is also room for you to indicate
"other" in the presentation format, and you are encouraged to
explore this option using creativity in your presentations.
There will be three sessions with a ten-minute passing period
between sessions. This will support 30 presentations during the
information-packed morning and still allow time for networking
opportunities.
Submit a nomination or a proposal by
completing this form and emailing it to Kayleigh
Carabajal no later than Wednesday, February 14. |
